Core implemented projects: “Light” Educational workshops on family planning and prevention sexually transmitted diseases, for young active students, mahalla’s female leaders, religious leaders, Khujand Law Enforcement Department personnel. “For the world free of violence " Workshops for rural high grade schoolchildren on increasing gender awareness, preventing violence against women. Higher grades schoolchildren from Soghd oblast districts schools, backed-up through Equal-to-equal principles and supervised by the Education Department conducted workshops for 9-11 grade students in the rural schools. "Addressing gender problems, reproductive health and family planning through mass-media "Information support of organizations and individuals working on protecting women’s rights, reproductive health and reproductive rights. Series of TV-debates on TV SM-1, publishing series of analytical articles, publishing 200 copies of “Gender. Gender? Gender!” collection devoted to reproductive health and family planning problems.
"Gender and mass conscious", increasing awareness of the population through distribution of “What gender is?”, “Protect your rights”, “Family planning” booklets by volunteers in the higher schools, women organizations, institutions – healthcare facilities, hair salons, tailoring workshops and other places frequently visited by women. Broadcasting 9 social advertizing clips on SM-1 channel. "Future" Specialized training on 16 hour program for adult audience in differentiated groups of men, women, young boys and girls, on increasing awareness on reproductive health issues.
"Adequate coverage of human trafficking issues by mass-media " – Training of 230 journalists of printed media and electronic mass-media on coverage of human trafficking issues. Competition of journalist works on anti-trafficking. As a result, 4 prized slots on the national journalists’ competition have been awarded and 3 small grants for implementation of project proposals on preventing trafficking through mass-media have been awarded to the participants.

2.Core ongoing projects: “Leader”. Project goal: Facilitate developing leadership features and civil position in youth, in particular, train higher grades school students on defending their ideas, working out leadership skills through participation in the political debates. Forming cohort of schoolchildren – potential political leaders following subsequent training in the “young leader school”. Youth program of working with schoolchildren, building leadership skills in students of higher grades, shaping skills to participating in political debates and democratic processes.

Center for IT “Kova” is registered in the Soghd oblast Department of Justice 1.12.2006, № 004-1622 and re-registered 06.12.2007, Registration Certificate № 004-1622-А.

PO CIT “Kova” works with all the civil society institutes, education workers, secondary and high school students. In general, the main target group is youth as well as local authorities.

Brief description of the organization and services offered

 

 

The Organization is founded in April, 1998 by two young men, to address problems related to treatment of drug addicts and providing possible psychological and social assistance to drug addicts. First steps of the group were independent activities aimed at providing possible assistance to young drug addicts. Later, drug users’ social rehabilitation system development and introduction program based on the international experience and local peculiarities in Tajikistan have been worked out. This experience provided the basis for currently functional system of social rehabilitation. In March 2000, spearheaded by the leaders of informal group, LLC “DN” have been created and registered in Oblast Department of Justice in Khujand. Tasks of the LLC “DN” included establishment of center for drug addicts and providing high-quality medical and social assistance to drug users and their families. In 2001, based on the LLC “DN”, Youth Center for prevention and rehabilitation “DINA” have been established. In November 2004, YCPR “DINA” have been re-registered in Soghd oblast Department of Justice and got the status of Public Association. The organization has been re-registered in August 2007 and currently represented as Soghd Local Community Organization “DINA”

Currently the organization is implementing few preventive programs in 4 projects: Harm Reduction Program (distribution of syringes and needles, condoms, NОМ, sterile instruments, mini-sessions, counseling services) “Social attendance” Program, Social attendance on HIV prevention, re-referral to profile specialists, incentivizing and educational work, “HIV and TB dialogues”. Work with IDU on “Break the circle” model.

Core mission of the organization is protection of legal rights and interests of PLHIV (People living with HIV) in the Republic of Tajikistan, facilitate increasing awareness level on legal rights, HIV/AIDS prevention and protecting reproductive health among PLHIV, support, care and adherence to taking ARV-therapy.

As well as developing capacity of PLHIV network so that the organization is useful to people living with HIV in Tajikistan, enabling themselves to actively participate in solving problems, which affect their lives.

Brief description of the organization and services offered

 

 

The Organization was founded based on an initiative of people living with HIV and representatives of vulnerable groups, affected by HIV, through support from Republican AIDS Center and UN AIDS

In Tajikistan, march, 2004.

  • Specific medical advisement on infectious, gynecologic, TB and dermatovenerologic diseases.
  • Psychological counseling.
  • Legal counseling.
  • Distribution of knowledge materials and handouts.
  • Organizing and conducting self and mutual assistance groups.
  • Care, support and adherence to ARV-therapy.
  • Equal-to equal counseling (support in accepting the status)
  • Client social attendance and re-referral (vertical transmission, opportunistic diseases etc.)
  • Alternative food for infants, born from HIV positive mothers
  • Food aid for PLHIV, taking ARV-therapy
