Brief description of the organization and services offered

 

 

PO “Asri Nav” is established in 2002 (Youth Development Center “Javononi Janub”). Date of reregistration 19 March 2008. Currently the organization has 7 staff and more than 50 volunteers.

We mainly work with population of remote districts and villages (N. KHisrav, Kubodiyon, Shaartuz, Jillikul, Qumsangir and others).

 

The organization provides trainings and events on the captioned directions.

Provision of monitoring and socio economic, legal assessment.

Organization of summer camps, courses and lessons for children and youth.

Conduction of analysis and work with community in all levels.

Other activities as mentioned above.

Brief description of the organization and services offered

 

 

PO “Ghamkhori” is established in 1996 by health workers and teachers to provide assistance to poor population.

On 25 May 1999 after 3 years of successful work organization was officially registered as NGO “Ghamkhori” under Np. 60 in the Legal Department of Khatlon Oblast and reregistered as public organization “Ghamkhori” on 25 September 2007.

Farming techniques of cultivation of lemon, pest control methods, legal aspects on land use, fiscal accounting, economic analysis. The use of biologic and micronutrient fertilizer, topics on IFM (Integrated Production Management).

  1. Project “Women Health of Bokhtar” supported by Christian Aid (England)- 1997-1998.
  2. Project “Women Health Khatlon " in Bokhtar, Vakhsh and Jomi Districts of Khatlon Oblast supported by TASIS (European Union) and collaboration with Christian Aid.
  3. On 01.05.2000 “Ghamkhori” by support provided by SDC established “Crisis Center” in Kurgan Tyube city " – that aims to “Improving living standards of poor women in Kurgan Tyube city and surrounding villages and prevention of domestic violence”.
  4. Project “Trafficking problems in Khatlon Oblast” (financed by IOM) covers Khurgan Tyube city, Bokhtar and Vakhsh Districts and from 2004 also Sarband city. The project continued up to 2007.
  1. 5.    From 2005 up to 31.12.2009 by support of UN Global Fund on HIV/AIDS and in partnership    with IOM the organization implemented a project “Community mobilization for prevention of HIV/AIDS among labor migrants and their family members” in Vakhsh District;

6.  From January 2005 up to December 2006 “Ghamkhori” implemented a project in south of Khatlon Oblast in Nosiri Khusrav District “Social mobilization of population in partnership with ICCO" (Netherlands). Project provides assistance to settlers of mountainous areas of Tajikistan and mobilizes people in addressing their problems, improving of their living standards.

7. From 01.01.05 up to 31.07.06 Ghamkhori  with support of NCA (Norway) implemented a project “Prevention the spread of HIV/AIDS among labor migrants (youth) and their families;

8. From 01.11.05 up to 31.12.2009 implemented a project “Prevention of HIV/AIDS and STDs among street children of Kurgan Tyube city” supported by UN Global Fund on HIV/AIDS.

9. From September 2006 up to November 2010 implemented a project “Poverty Reduction among rural population in N. Khusrav District through livestock” supported by German organization Misereor.

  1. From January 2005 up today PO Ghamkhori is implementing a project “Reduction of the level of the domestic violence” supported by SDC under the Crisis Center.
  2. From 14 July 2007 PO “Ghamkhori” is implementing project “Health mobilization” supported by TACIS EU and ACT Central Asia in Vakhsh, Bokhtar and Jomi Districts and Kurgan Tyube city. This project will continue up to 13 July 2009.
  3. From 01.06.09 up to 28.02.09 PO “Ghamkhori” implemented a project “Prevention  the spread of HIV/AIDS among labor migrants and their families in A. Jomi District” supported by DCA;
  1. From 01 June 2007 PO started implementation a project “Strengthening of Teachers and Parents Associations” financed by GTZ in Rumi. N. Khhisrav, A. Jomi, Qumsangir, Vakhsh, Bokhtar and Sarband Districts. The works are ongoing in the schools of these districts under this projects.
  2. From 01.11.07 PO “Ghamkhori” in partnership with PO “Fidokor” implemented a project “Provision of 60% coverage of IDUs in Kurgan Tyube city with minimum package of services on prevention of HIV” financed by USAID under  TUMAR project, where Communication Center was opened.
  3. From 15.12.2007 up to December 2009 implemented a project “Farmers mobilization to improve quality and increase agricultural productivity” financed by ICCO and Helvetas.
  4. From 01.07.2008 up to 31.12.2009 the organization implemented project “I know!” financed by USAID and PSI.
  5. PO Ghamkhori from 19.08.2008 up to 31.07.2010 provided research under the project “Child to child” supported by  UNICEF.
  6. From 01.08.09 up to 31.07.12 is implementing a project “Improvement of rural population living standards of Khatlon Oblast” financed by Oxfam Novib (Netherlands).
  7. From 01.08.09 up to 31.07.10 PO Ghamkhori implemented a project “Capacity building of schools and improving of social situation of victims of domestic violence” supported by ACT CA (Christian Aid).
  8. PO Ghamkhori in partnership with ACTED is implementing project “Joint Community Flood Management Project” from 17.05.09 up to 31.05.2012.
  9. From 01.08.10 up to 31.07.11 Ghamkhori is implementing project “Mobilization of Khatlon population to improve living standards” supported by ACT Central Asia (Christian Aid).

Some implemented projects: the organization has implemented more than 30 projects to support civil society. Below are some of them: “Women access to information” is educational and legal program to support women – under the framework of project a magazine “Nigohi bonuvon/Ayol nigohi” was registered and published.

“Prevention of human trafficking” Project is directed to inform population about the risk of labor migration and the measures for its prevention.

“Guarding your own health” is directed to inform the population about personal hygiene and water sanitation.

“Assistance in Land Reform Development” Project is directed to lobby rights and protect interest of farmers, assist in creation and reorganization of dehkan farms, address issues of farmers, assist in development of land reforms and others.

 

Ongoing projects:

“World Free of Tuberculosis” Project. Under the framework of this project we conduct informational sessions on prevention of TB, outreach work for identification, referral for diagnostics and treatment of TB patients, lobbying of their rights and interests.

Project “You are not alone in this world” on establishment of Women Support Centers for prevention of HIV/AIDS amongst vulnerable women by expanding access to medical, legal and social services.

Brief description of the organization and services offered

 

 

Public organization “Farodis” is established in May 2003 and was reregistered as local organization according to the new Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Public Organizations” dated 29 December 2007 under No. 133А in the Legal Department of Khatlon Oblast.

In 17 November 2009 the public organization “Farodis” was registered in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan and received a status of “Republican” (state registration certificate No. 1225)

The target groups of the organization are – vulnerable women, people dependant from Government support, poor families.

Services – legal and medical assistance, social support.

Implemented projects:

  • In November 2004 with financial support provided by OSCE the project “Socio economic rights of rural women” was implemented and conducted educational seminars on raising of legal awareness of women, 138 women from community leaders benefited from the project and enhanced their legal awareness.
  • In 2005 with support provided by UNWFP, 30 young girls were trained in sewing. Currently, beneficiaries by working at home improve their socio economic living standards.
  • In November 2005 under the NGO and by financial support provided by Open Society Institute – Assistance Fund, a center is established that provides free legal assistance to poor people and still provides its free assistance. During this period the following assistance were provided -  1254 people received legal consultations on different cases (family, civil, housing, inheritance and criminal); lawyers were provided to protect rights and interests of interested people during preliminary investigation, prepared procedural documents (claims, notices and complaints) during courts on civil and criminal cases – 753.
  • Also by financial support provided by the same donor from November 2006 up to May 2007 organization implemented a project “Development of local community” to establish communication between local community and government authorities on addressing of social issues of community.
  • From June up to December 2007 a project was implemented financed by the World Bank Office in Tajikistan to improve legal literacy of vulnerable population such as old age pensioners, disablement pensioners, families that lost their breadwinners, disabled people and others who are under social support of the Government. The scope of legal section activities was expanded to provide services of psychologist and lawyer to the target groups. There were two days seminars in 8 Jamoats on explanation of pension legislation. Participants of the seminars were: mothers of children with disabilities, disabled people, old age pensioners, families that lost their breadwinners. The program of the workshop also included provision of individual consultations to interested participants.
  • From June 2007 with financial support provided by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation implemented a project “Solfeggio” that provided 3 months courses from which 25 kindergarten teachers and music teachers of secondary schools of Kuybishevsk village of Jomi district improved their knowledge on the basics of musical education and cultural work.
  • From April 2008 up to January 2009 with financial assistance provided by the Embassy of the

United States of America in the Republic of Tajikistan implemented a project “Our general goal – establishment of Legal State” to enhance civil education of senior schoolchildren of secondary schools. During the program, 20 teachers of schools received training on interactive teaching methods and formation of citizenship of schoolchildren. The project created 18 groups from senior secondary schoolchildren of the district, who improved their knowledge during 48-hour program on civic education.

  • Over the same period a project funded by Global Fund for Women, aiming to promote improvement of the position of women in civil society, increase their involvement and participation in democratization of the society and maintaining gender balance. The project provided legal assistance to women who faced violence and involved 120 women in educational activities to enhance their legal awareness.
  • From February 2009 up to March 2010 organization implemented a project “I know!” to improve reproductive health financed by international organization PSI.
  • From July up to December 2010 organization implemented a project “Public Participation” financed by World Bank Office in Tajikistan that focused in promotion of involvement of poor population in local decision making process in health and education sectors, promotion of accountability of local authorities to the community through communication and information of  poor population of A. Jomi District;

Ongoing project:

Project “Women Support Center in A. Jomi District” is implemented that is financed by AIDS Foundation East West, under the project framework the organization established Women Support Center that provides legal, social and medical assistance to the vulnerable women of the district. The project focuses on preventing the spread of STI / HIV / TB / hepatitis by informing the vulnerable women on these issues.

Under the framework of these projects, the organization works to mobilize communities, with 36 self-help groups (SHGs), where 266 people from poor families were included, 5 Federations of SHGs and 6 Mahalla Commitees in Orion Jamoat, Bokhtar District and 31 farmers group (510 farmers), were involved in lemon growing in Zargar Jamoat of Bokhtar District and Jamoat named Krupskaya of Qumsangir District of Khatlon Oblast.

Organization filled an application to the project of the Embassy of USA under Small Grants Program of Democracy Commission.

Year of establishment, target group, services and other

  • PO “Rushd” is established in January 2000, officially registered on 12 March 2002 (registration number 137), and reregistered on 13 December 2007 (registration number 76А);
  • The target groups are: the entire population of Khatlon Oblast depending on their level of legal vulnerability and relationship to certain political events, organization of civil society, including of political parties, journalists and government authorities;
  • PO “Rushd” provides educational activities, mobilization of community in addressing of local issues, advocacy campaigns (protection of interests of certain groups of population), analytical research (Think Tank activities) in order to influence to the policy, provision of consultations to the population and organization of civil society on the subject;
  • PO “Rushd” staff enhanced their knowledge and skills by participating in many national and international trainings and courses on human rights, democracy, and therefore demanded as at national level as well as at international level.
  • Two staff of the organization on a regular basis carries out the international observation of elections on behalf of OSCE and the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs.

Brief description of the organization and services offered

 

 

Organization officially was registered on 13 April 2001 in Legal Department of Khatlon Oblast under No. 97 and reregistered on 28 December 2007 under No. 122 “А”. The public organization “Mahbuba” started its activity in Vakhsh and Bokhtar Districts. Since 2005 implements a project “Prevention of domestic violence” in Vakhsh District.

The project conducted training sessions for specific groups, such as men, women, and youth groups. The goal of the organization is change attitudes towards domestic violence by provision of a variety of preventive measures, such as meetings, actions, mobile theaters. Each month the organization provides assistance to 18-24 people who faced problems, where our intervention is necessary. Staff of the organization provides social, legal consultations as well as services of lawyers in courts, free legal consultations, representation in court, and drafting of legal documents.

Main implemented projects:

  1. The project "Addressing poverty - the welfare of the family”, 2001 funded by Counterpart Consortium Tajikistan and the World Food Programme to create a mini-canning workshop. The goal of the project was to create new jobs in rural areas and provide local population with their own canned food with acceptable price. As a result, 22 women from refugees and low-income families were provided with jobs. During the project implementation 6000 pieces of tinned cans was produced ​​.
  2. Project “Mini Farm” financed by UNCNR, 2002.

The goal and objectives of the project: creating jobs and improving the economic status of rural population, poverty reduction. Within 6 months, 575 turkeys were distributed to poor families for   breeding and sale.

  1. Project “Water is life”, 2003, financed by Counterpart Consortium Tajikistan to support initiative groups. Water pipeline was constructed in total length 900 meters.

4.      Project “Improving of maternal and child health” , 2004 , financed by Future International (USAID). The project was implemented in 22 villages of Bokhtar District to raise awareness of population on family planning and breastfeeding.

  1. Project “Start your business”, 2004,  -  educational seminars for dehkan farms, financed by National Association of Small and Medium Businesses.
  2. Project “Rehabilitation of cotton sector”, 2009, funded by International Development Association (World Bank).  PO “Mahbuba” conducted 20 seminars for dehkan farms in 3 Jamoats ( 20   villages)  of Vakhsh District.

Main ongoing projects:

1.        Since 2005 to present PO implements Project “Prevention of domestic violence”, financed by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, where supervisor is AVEDIS, Germany through AVEDIS branch.
