Brief description of the organization and services offered

Public Organization “SHOTO” is one of the major developed third sector organization in Isfara. This year, while evaluating achievement for the good of society development, State Certification Commission honored advanced public organizations, including PO “SHOTO” with certificates. Our organization has got high status among its government and nongovernment partners. PO “SHOTO” is a constructor of social mechanisms, including coordinating and initiating two Coordinating Councils in Isfara: on entrepreneurship development among youth and drug abuse and HIV/AIDS prevention. There is a youth social bureau, education center for entrepreneurship development, two youth centers, sports club and small bakery training workshop.  The personnel consists of experienced young specialists, teachers, journalists, economists, lawyers, health care specialists, social workers totaling 27 staff members and 40 volunteers.

Core implemented projects: “Training on street business instrument” for street and poor teenagers of the district. The project on youth social bureau “Reboot”. Increasing awareness on HIV/AIDS and training on social development skills for 160 representatives from the most vulnerable youth of Isfara from poor families. , “Mom, Dad and I – preventive family” drug abuse prevention among 200 vulnerable families of Isfara., “OUR ACTION is our Health”. Increasing awareness, social development skills among 260 young people and reduce vulnerability towards HIV/AIDS among Isfara population, “OUR ACTION is development of our society”. Development of leadership skills and strengthening youth voice in the society of Isfara.

2.Core ongoing projects “OUR ACTION is OUR FIDELITY” Developing patriotism among youth of 12 jamoats of Isfara, “Kulchahoi bibijon:, Small training and production workshop for rural girls of Navgilem jamoat., “Mercy is the basis for our health and happiness”. Improving access of PLHIV and their family members to acquiring social services through training and prevention and tolerance towards PLHIV in 116 community leaders of Isfara, “ACCESS” Improving quality and increasing accessibility of services for vulnerable groups of population through strengthening partnership network of local organizations, working in the area of HIV/AIDS and TB in Soghd oblast of the Republic of Tajikistan

Public Organization “Human Rights Center” is national, independent, voluntary, self-governing public association. Center for Human Rights was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan, October 27, 1997.

The Organization provides free legal aid to poor and vulnerable groups of population, including labor migrants, victims of trafficking, servicemen and recruits for military service, practically on every legal issue. Brief description of the organization and services offered

Women public organization “Sadoqat” is registered March 1, 2002, its activity covers Soghd opblast, Republic of Tajikistan. Reregistered October 17, 2007. PWO “Sadoqat” is public nongovernmental organization, bringing together women, dedicated to contribute to sustainable high-moral well-off life for people, in strengthening its freedom and protecting women’s rights, speaking against all forms of violence against women.
The reason for founding “Sadoqat” was women’s public initiative, aimed at improving women’s and youth in the society and addressing serious problems, emerging in the rural area, such as unemployment, labor migration, growth of infectious diseases among children and youth, increasing violence cases against girls.

Main activity of the organization is aimed at two spheres:

Education and prevention – the organization conducts training and courses aimed at increasing women’s and girls’ role in the society. Training on reproductive health and family planning are conducted in the frames of the program. Initiatives of informing teenagers about such problems as drug abuse, early pregnancy, violence against women and girls are conducted. Awareness raising projects on family planning and STD have been conducted as well. Moreover, legal workshops are conducted in the frames of this program, particularly, organization of training on increasing legal awareness among women and girls of our region.

Practical courses – the program is dedicated to train needed capacity building courses to develop skills in girls and finding new job places. Tailoring courses, sewing workshops in Istaravshan are also successfully functioning, where girls improve their families livelihoods while furthering their talents and abilities. Tailoring workshop is a unique one in the region and it trains about 20 girls on sewing, embroidery thus offering their services to customers on a commercial basis. The program is an internal resource of the NGO and is an excellent demonstration of sustainability. Above all, girls integrate into the society through this program and develop their leadership features.

Sewing courses are also an opportunity for women to improve their livelihood and avoid economic and psychological violence in their families.

The organization started its activity since 1999. Its first activity was implemented through fees from parents. Then it received a few grants for working with youth.
